The color that looks stunning on Miss Lemon! Especially the darker, bold green shades compliments her red hair and pail skin very well. A bonus: all of these outfits have lots of details!
Green gingham dress with lace jabot
This belted dress has long sleeves and a high, narrow round neckline. There are pleated details at the shoulders and the hips. The dress has a double layer lace jabot which is secured with a row of four round buttons.
A bold green V-neck dress
Simple, clean lines and pretty, asymmetrical lines makes this figure fitting, belted dress look stunning! The dress has typical 1930's diagonals around the V-neck in contrasting off-white and camel colors. Also the cuffs are made of the same contrasting colors and every piece of fabric is secured with decorative, oval shaped dark green buttons.
Pale green coat
Is it a dress or is it a coat? Is it a coat-dress? I'd say separates, because coat-dresses weren't fashionable until the 1950's. This long, pastel green coat has wide, gathered 'leg 'o mutton' sleeves which are fitted from the elbows down. The coat has a rather rectangular shape and has a collar with contrasting edge finish and a decorative button tab on the right lapel. The coat closes with two buttons which are connected, probably with a loop inside. In one shot you can spot the buttonholes as well. Worn here with a green dress (?) or skirt and blouse with a bow collar.
Leg 'o mutton sleeve's (also known as the gigot sleeve) were popular in the late 19th century and disappeared in the early 20th century, though there were revivals from time to time. It acquired it's name because of the unusual shape: a lot of volume at top and tapering just below the elbow, like a lamb shank.
A similar type of coat from 1933:
Dark green knitted suit
The dark green knitted sports sweater has a keyhole neckline and long, fitted sleeves which are gathered at the shoulders. There are pintuck details below the shoulders. The collar and pocket covers are made in contrasting fabric with red and white stripes and are secured with decorative, flat green buttons. The sweater is belted and the skirt is long and straight.
Summer frock with geometric print
This dress has 3/4 sleeves and a slightly flared hemline. The fabric a has green and yellow geometric print. The round neck is finished with a peter pan-style collar and a crisp white jabot which is buttoned down. There is a small belt in a dark green fabric which closes with two buttons at the front. The skirt is shorter than we are used to see of Miss Lemon!
